Vote for Me

The last couple years I have entered into this photo contest and haven’t had 1 photo make it to the next round that is the voting round. This year I have 5 of the 100 photos to vote for. It’s a photo contest that you had to pay 15 bucks for 5 photo’s to enter at a time but the money goes to Outdoor School. So knowing that it was for outdoor school I was sucker’d in. I loved outdoor school, I remember some very fun things that went on plus I lucked out, one of the counselors was in a movie made in Oregon. Stand By Me. His name was Andy Lindberg or better known as Lardass. His name as a counselor was Walrus. I don’t think Lardass would of gone over well. BUT I loved it. Camp Howard!!!

So onto the contest, I submitted 10 photo’s this year and 5 made it. After not having anything make the next round the 2 last years I was surprised to see anything. It’s not a big contest, don’t get a new car or to meet the President but it’s something. So I ask you to head over to Photooftheyear.net and vote for my 5 photo’s.

fun at the coast

The fall Kite Festival was in full force this weekend.

downer at the kite festival

This was from the Fall Kite Festival in Lincoln City and i’m pretty sure the Summer Kite Festival must be more fun. It was a pretty fun time because for some reason I kept taking wrong turns, not really paying attention to the lane and missing exits. We did make it but we did detour 3 or 4 times getting there. After I pulled my head out of my ass we arrived and saw only a handful of kites. Yes, maybe 10 in the air. But the real joy of it all was a seal had come up the beach and decided that was a good place to die. It was sad, people were playing around it and not too worried about a dying animal only feet away. It wasn’t dead when we saw it but it wasn’t moving much besides it head. It was first found in Seaside and I hope it’s the same seal or we have issues in our ocean with dying animals because Lincoln City is a good distance for a dying seal to swim.
