The year of 2011 has been amazing. I had a ton of great times, I got engaged to the amazing Trisha. I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots. But not the normal list that you might see from everyone else. These are shots that you haven’t seen. You’ve seen a shot or two from an adventure but I never posted/published or released these into the world. These are shots that made the cutting room floor. For no particular reason but I wanted to share them with you know… now!

I got up really early, or did I get up really late? Either way my alarm was set for 1am. I guess we can go with got up late because the clerk at Plaid Pantry did say have a nice night. I arrived at Johnston Ridge Observatory at 3:30am and it was spooky. Mostly because their was another car in the parking lot but it also had something to do with my ear were ringing because it was so quite. Zero sounds, just a river a few miles down the way, a water spout that was dripping and a loose sign up on the hill that reminded people to stay on the trail. It was a horrible drive up, a lot of fog and a giant mysterious elk that was or was not in the road hidden by fog. I had my fingers crossed that the fog would die off or something, never would of guessed that 4000 feet up you would end up above clouds and fog for a clear shot at the mountain. I will go back and do this again, maybe just staying up and getting there earlier or just camping and doing it Louis and Clark style.
This might be my last upload from my old apartment. I was digging thru all my stuff and found this photo that I had not posted. Of course with the fog we’ve had the last couple weeks reminded me how amazing the week this photo was taken really was.

The last couple years I have entered into this photo contest and haven’t had 1 photo make it to the next round that is the voting round. This year I have 5 of the 100 photos to vote for. It’s a photo contest that you had to pay 15 bucks for 5 photo’s to enter at a time but the money goes to Outdoor School. So knowing that it was for outdoor school I was sucker’d in. I loved outdoor school, I remember some very fun things that went on plus I lucked out, one of the counselors was in a movie made in Oregon. Stand By Me. His name was Andy Lindberg or better known as Lardass. His name as a counselor was Walrus. I don’t think Lardass would of gone over well. BUT I loved it. Camp Howard!!!
So onto the contest, I submitted 10 photo’s this year and 5 made it. After not having anything make the next round the 2 last years I was surprised to see anything. You can go to the same spot over and over and always get a different result. But does a person expect the same result? Is the result you want the same as what others expect?
Early morning it was perfect then it rained more then when the story of the Ark was made up on Saturday. It was insane. Then while inside a tiny wine tasting room you could see the heavens open up and bam….SUNSET.
