It’s all about having your gear with you. Of course it helps to know magic and have the hair stand up on your back when a great sunset is about to happen. I had a feeling and I was ready. I was about 1/3 of the way to the area where I took this photo when I received a text from a friend asking if I was taking photos of this sunset. This day’s sunset was supposed to have it’s photo taken. It was begging for it and even a friend knew I would be out. You just got to love the late night sunset.
This is my 6,000th public picture I’ve posted to Flickr. It is also my 5 year anniversary this month of being on Flickr. It has been an awesome 5 years. I wasn’t a photographer I was a person who had a point and shoot Sony Cybershot that I bought from an electronics store that was going out of business for $80. My photography addiction started with a trip to Sturgis on my 2000 Harley Fatboy. Once I got back less then 2 weeks later my motorcycle was stolen and I needed a new hobby. Thank you photography and thank you Flickr and your wonderful community that I call friends.
Early morning it was perfect then it rained more then when the story of the Ark was made up on Saturday. It was insane. Then while inside a tiny wine tasting room you could see the heavens open up and bam….SUNSET.
Never really thought about it being Spring Break for the Oregon kids. The drive down to Lincoln City wasn’t the faster beach drive ever but after 3 hours we finally got here for the sunset. I had heard reports from the other beach goers that the rain was coming down sideways. I didn’t have too much faith with the photos for the weekend but as I write this the sky is clear and the stars are out. I didn’t even say hi to anyone when we arrived, I just busted ass right to the beach. In the front and out the back before anyone noticed me.
